The effects of the Great War (World War 1) on West Asia and the Middle East is the following:
1. The dissolution of the Ottoman Empire. Because of that, many Middle Eastern takes its place like Turkey, Saudi Arabia and many others. The Ottoman Empire was once the country that binds all of Middle East, which, when it falls, disunity in the Middle East began to take-over the situation, which we can see until today.
2. The diminishing power of the United Kingdom (due to economic damages imposed by the war) gave South Asia, particularly India and Pakistan to make their moves for independence.
3. The weakening of the economy.
4. The creation of colonies by France and Britain (as victors of World War 1, the British and the French, as per suggestion of the Treaty of Versailles, redrawn the national borders of countries, which in this case was the Middle East, since Middle East was once under the flag of the Ottoman Empire) on the Middle East which was a few years later became new countries.
5. The weakening of the Russian Empire and soon the rise of the Soviet Union paved the way for a change of the status quo in the Middle East, which became apparent during World War 2 and the Cold War.
