Daedalus is one of the characters of the famous Greek myth "Daedalus and Icarus". Here, Daedalus was portrayed like an architect or engineer wherein he made various architectural designs and built magnificent and complicated structures. Daedalus is very talented and had many inventions, a sample of which are the wings he made for him and his son Icarus.

As narrated in the story, it was King Minos who hired Daedalus. King Minos hired him to create the plan for the Minoan Palace of Knossos, one of the most important archaeological sites in Crete and Greece today. The Palace has 1,300 rooms which are decorated with stunning frescoes and artifacts.

Daedalus was also the one hired by King Minos to build the infamous Labyrinth. King Minos wanted a building suitable to imprison the mythical monster Minotaur. According to the myth, King Minos used to imprison his enemies in the Labyrinth, making sure that they would be killed by the monster.

However, later on, King Minos and Daedalus had a misunderstanding which severed their relationship which led to the imprisonment of Daedalus and his son Icarus inside the Labyrinth.
