The kind of conflict that can be concluded in the statement may be Man vs Man or Man vs Self.  If looking from the point of conflict inside a narrative or literature, there are many types of conflict. Man vs Man, is when a person or character is against another person or human being. Their situation may be due to rivalry or people with opposing views. In Man vs Self, the person is in battle with his alter ego or his inner self. He may be in search of changing his actions or his life.

It may be true that the given conflicts above are that of for a story or for literature, but it also applies well in reality.  

Types of Conflicts:

  • Man vs Man- against another person
  • Man vs Self-against himself
  • Man vs Society-against the world/society
  • Man vs Nature-against the forces of nature
  • Man vs Supernatural- against a being that can’t be fought physically

The challenge in the statement is the person’s willingness to look the other way. According to this if he is with a good man then he should strive to be equal or may be more than that man. But if he is with a bad man, then he should stop being clouded by others’ opinions and take a look at his experience-take a look beneath the surface.
