WHAT ARE THE DIFFERECE OF FACTORS AND MULTIPLE

Sagot :

AnneC
Factors are the numbers to be multiplied to get the number.

Ex.              2 x 5 = 10

2 and 5 here are the factors of 10.

Multiples are the numbers divisible by a number.

Ex.           10, 20, 30, 40, ...

These are multiples of 10 because they are all divisible by 10.
(Being divisible means there is no remainder when you divide it.)
Every number has a unique set of numbers that divide evenly into it; all other numbers leave a remainder. These numbers are called the factors. Additionally, each number has a set of numbers that can be obtained by multiplying the number a certain number of times. These numbers are called the multiples. Factors and multiples have many different applications in arithmetic and algebra.
