In the Korean Arts and Crafts, it includes their tradition in calligraphy, music, painting, pottery and uses by natural forms.  When we go back to history, humans occupied the Korean Peninsula from at least 50 000 BC. The earliest Korean arts arise during stone age dating from 300 BC, and it was followed by the art style of various dynasties and Korean Kingdoms.

Three Kingdoms and Art Influence

  1. Goguryeo -  As influenced by Buddism to Goguryeo in 372 CE, the kings began commissioning art and architecture dedicated to Buddha. Their paintings are inspired by the creation of similar works from parts of East Asia like Japan.
  2. Baekje - Considered their kingdom with the greatest art among the three states. It was influenced by the Southern Chinese dynasties. One of the kingdoms introduces a significant Korean influence of art during the Japan period.
  3. Silla -  Most isolated kingdom from the Korean Peninsula. This is the kingdom that was the last to adopt Buddhism and foreign cultural influence. The Silla craftsman was famed for their gold-crafting ability.
