The story of "The Soul of the Great Bell" was told as a Chines folktale.

The story of "The Soul of The Great Bell" is a very sad tale of a young lady named Ko - Ngai that had sacrificed her life for her father's sake. Kouan - Yu, Ko - Ngai's father had to make a great bell as commanded by Yong Lo, the son of the Ming Dynasty.  Since he had failed twice and if they fail for the third time, he will surely be punished to death. Ko - Ngai after learning these things jumped into the flood metal. Her dad and the rest of the laborers were able to finish the bell which gold seemed purer and whiter than before, but instead of being happy Kouan - Yu cried a lot because of what happened to her daughter Ko - Ngai.

This story reflects how much a certain daughter like Ko - Ngai love his father that she would sacrifice her own life just to spare his father's life.
