In the selection, “The Story of Keesh”, it can be said that the climax started when Keesh bursted out his inner emotions in front of the council and of everyone. But, what is his speech at the council about?

It was about how his late father, who was known to be very brave and strong, a great hunter had always divided his hunt equally and fairly among the villagers. Keesh also emphasized how fair and equal his hunt will be, like his father, upon his return that no women, widow nor weak will cry because of hunger and no men will groan for having eaten overmuch when women had none. This brought and caused great laughter to everyone as Keesh was known to be a very scared boy and they happen to belong to the poorest Igloo among the people in the village after his father’s death.  

CLIMAX

After that incident, Keesh went on with his hunting journey, feeling very brave for the first time in his life. Alongside with him is his father’s spear. Days has passed and no one has heard anything about him, until the fourth day. On the fourth day, he returned to their village, surprising all the people as he holds a huge bear on one shoulder and carries its baby by hand. Keesh has successfully hunted, despite everyone’s laughter.  

RESOLUTION

The Story of Keesh was first published in January of 1904 under the Holiday Magazine for Children and became a popular story among children’s books and English literature subjects. It was written by Jack Chaney, mostly known as Jack London. He was the one who pioneered commercialized magazine fiction writing.
