During the Grand Council in the Pre-mortal existence, Heavenly Father was asking who would go to earth and save us all. The first who volunteered was Jesus, then Lucifer. Of course, we know that Heavenly Father did not trust Lucifer's plan, and was casted out of His Kingdom, with one third of His children. Just like them, it's either we were called or volunteered for His plan. We trusted Him there, and He trusted us too. 

A part of His plan may be,for example, for you to touch someones heart once you are at this time and place. God is using you for His plan to save others. He uses you as an insrtument for His other children. While for the other children, they must have talked about this also, and saves you. That may ba a benefit, helping each other as children of God.
