It left me in surprise that many Filipinos live in suffering and lack of basic privileges all around the rights of a citizen. Of course, several centuries ago, they forced us to colonize them, and we revolutionized them in the first place. I think if many people were enlightened before such thoughts, we could defeat the foreign countries. This taught me a lot, as we should always be ready to fight for our country despite the many challenges we encounter. This encourages me to be a Filipino and to see how they survive the many hardships faced by us on the Spaniards, like Prayle. Jose Rizal gave me the reason that there are many ways or tools to fight, like writing. It is therefore for this reason that, as learners, we can change and shape our lives. Lucky for us, we do not come across such challenges as that. Perhaps we can pave the way for the struggles of Rizal if only we take care of our precious country, in which the Philippines is called the ‘Pearl of the Orient’.
