Isaiah 7:14
"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel."
- Isaiah was an Old Testament prophet who foretold the coming of Jesus, the promised Messiah.
- He prophesied about a suffering servant who would bring salvation and establish a new covenant between God and humanity.
- Key prophecies about Jesus found in the Book of Isaiah include the prophecy of a virgin giving birth to a son, who would be called Immanuel.
Note:
In the New Testament, the name Immanuel is not directly used to refer to Jesus; however, it is a symbolic representation of who Jesus is - the Son of God who came to dwell among humanity and show God's love and presence to the world.
