Myths were made in the past. The prehistoric people doesn't have any idea of what is happening. They don't have any beliefs back then. So, they started thinking of ideas of how things come to be. These are their theories of life. They needed to be entertained which is the reason they made stories, they told these and fortunately was passed to the next generations.

 Ancient Greeks wrote down myths because they want to give other people an idea about their beliefs and religion. Also, at this time  teaching the young Greeks about Greek Mythology is one of the main purposes in their lives.
