Legacy to my family?

Legacy is something that you leave to the people that will make them remember you even when you die. It is natural for people who are rich and have many properties to prepare a letter of inheritance, declaring what will be received by whom. Those who do not have any relatives tends to donate everything to a foundation that would help the welfare of many. As for me, who lives in the average financial capacity, what I would leave to my family are:

  • Love the Lord your God with all your heart, your mind, your soul, and your strength - I really believe that there is God, who created us for his glory and we are expected to worship Him as we live a life in accordance to His will to us. God is not controlling us, in fact, we are given the freedom to choose and the power to decide on things that we want to. As for me, I decided to put my faith and follow Jesus. As the Bible states in Matthew 24:35, "Heaven and Earth will pass away but my words will never disappear.", I really desire that my loved ones would put their faith to Jesus and love God above any other else. Of course, I cannot force them to do the same like I did but I am trying to live a life that is full of hope in Jesus, praying that they would see Jesus as their savior and Lord.
  • Love others as you love yourself - the same is true with loving others. You don't live alone. You have someone to talk to and mingle with. It would be relieving to me to know that they can live in peace with others. They really should learn how to love others and family is the first people whom you should serve with. Of course, we are all have imperfections and it is very hard to love others despite of being unlovable but Jesus set an example on loving the unlovable. So as I try to live my life, I really desire my family to help others too.
