The instructions of the Bible regarding patriarchy has been MISUNDERSTOOD by many religious men. It has been used as an excuse to mistreat and abuse women, which is very displeasing to the Lord. Husbands are called by God to be responsible leaders of the family and not abusers of wives (and children too).
