OCCULAR/EYEPIECE- It is a lens that is attached to a draw tube.

COARSE ADJUSTMENT KNOB- It allows the movement of the tube upwards or downwards.

FINE ADJUSTMENT KNOB- it is used to bring the specimen into sharp focus under low power and is used for all focusing when using high power lenses.

ARM-it is a curve shape that supports tube, it is for grasping in holdinf the microsope in transporting.

INCLINATION JOINT- It connects the arm to the base. It helps incline the microscope for a more comfortable viewing.

BASE- It provides support to the microscope.

MIRROR- It allows the light to pass through the hole in the stage and illuminate the specimen.

STAGE CLIP- It holds the glass slide in place.

STAGE- It is a flat surface where the mounted slide is placed.

LPO, HPO, OIL IMMERSION- LPO or low power objectives gives the lowest magnification usually 10x. HPO or high power objective gives higher magnification, usually 40x or 43x. Oil immersion gives the highest magnification usually 97x to 100x.

REVOLVING NOSEPIECE- Ir is responsible in holding the objective lenses which is HPO, LPO, scanner. It facilitates the changing of objectives.

BODY TUBE/ DRAW TUBE- It is a tube that seperates the objective and the eyepiece and assumes continous alignment of the optics.
