1. A biotic factor: in the rainforest is any living thing, which includes rainforest animals, plants, insects, fungi and microorganisms. These aren't to be confused with abiotic factors, which are non-living things.
Abiotic Factors: water, warm climate, sunlight, humidity, poor soil composition due to millions of years of rain and weathering have washed out all the nutrients., and precipitation.
2. Some of the Biotic factors: that are specific to coral reefs are seaweed, squid, crab, minerals from dead organic substance, crustaceans,algae,and coral. Seaweed- A large plant that grows in the sea below the high water mark. Minerals from dead organic substance- Mostly is sedimentary rock.
Temperature and sunlight are two abiotic factors: found in nearly every ecosystem, but since the Great Barrier Reef is an aquatic ecosystem, it has some additional abiotic components, including buoyancy, viscosity, light penetration, salts, gases and water density.
3. Animals- such as the mangrove crab, Saltwater Crocodile, Jabiru, Sea Snake, Snowy Egret all inhabit the Mangrove swamps. Plants- Black Mangrove trees, buttonwood, red mangrove trees, Mangrove Leaves, and White Mangrove.
Let's take a closer look at these five main abiotic factors – salinity, flooding, temperature, light, and nutrients – and see how they affect mangroves, and how mangroves deal with them by, in some cases, developing special adaptations.
