Dysmenorrhoea or "menstrual cramps" is common among girls during their period. It is the pain and discomfort below the stomach caused by "uterine contractions" . It can also be felt on the lower back, hips or thighs.

The uterus (where a baby grows) tighten too much that it can press against blood vessels that can cause the cut off of oxygen to muscle tissues.
