In the Greek myth 'Daedalus and Icarus', Daedalus is the one who told his son Icarus that their plan will be dangerous before they started their journey but he still insisted and took the risk. One of the reasons why he took the risk in spite of the fact that this plan may cause their death is that, he wanted to escape the Labyrinth since he wanted his son to have a better life and have a sense of freedom.

Daedalus and Icarus escape plan:

It took them little time to find their way out of the labyrinth. But they still needed to escape from Crete. Daedalus knew that the only way for them to escape is by air, so he made, for him and his son, a pair of huge wings.

The materials Daedalus used are:

  • hundred's of feathers from the birds around the island.
  • A strong wax to hold it together
  • Thread to hold the feather in place
