In the first two lines of the poem, the world is compared to a stage. The people that were found on the earth are also compared to the players who often perform on the stage. Both the world and the stage serve as platform where exhibits their talents.

How Are the Stage and the World Related?

  • Both the stage and the world serve as setting.
  • As the stage is set for performances so as the world is set for true to life experiences.
  • As people were placed in the world to assume different responsibilities, performers are called to the stage to play different roles also.
  • The stage is set and decorated depending on the theme of the play; the world is either set depending on how we want it to be.

The world is where our lives are set. God made this world to be the place where people can stay and prove themselves until they are ready to go back to His presence. Everything we experience in this life happens here the same manner that the stage was prepared to be the setting of a certain play. Often the stage is set depending on the mood that the production wished their audiences to feel while watching the play.

Every performance was displayed on the stage. There are certain elements of the stage that makes it more appealing to the audience such as lighting, sound effects, musical background, and decorations. The world on the other hand is designed according to God’s perfect plan. Everything on this world has its purpose but one thing is sure, everything was made for the benefit of men. Our life here on earth maybe easier or a little lighter because of what God has provided for us.

People were placed here on the world to assume different roles or responsibilities. Men and women are created to be mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, soldiers, nurses, doctors, or any careers of our choice as long as we function as good and morally upright citizens while the stage is a platform where plays are being showcased and talents are being displayed for live audiences.

The stage is usually decorated depending on the theme of the play being showcased. Several examples can be musical, theatrical, and Broadways. On the other hand, the world we live in is personally designed by God but our environment which is a smaller part of the world which we live is decorated using our own free will. We can always make it fit for our needs.
