why do we need to use proper tools in cutting

Sagot :

Explanation:

Each tool is precisely designed for a specific purpose, so choosing the correct tool will also decrease the amount of effort required to get a job done right without causing damage to either the equipment or the surface being worked on. Many construction accidents can be prevented by taking the time to plan ahead.

Answer:

Using the proper cutting tools will give you a smooth straight cutting line - which is easier to use to guide the placement of the sewing line by running the cutting line against a seam guide or a line marked on the sewing machine bed.

I got handed an unfinished sewing project by a friend and another one by a relative & asked to finish them. The fabric had apparently been cut with cuticle scissors in a series of uneven curves - some convex and some concave. I had to pin the fabric back to the paper pattern and run a sewing line using seamstress carbon paper so that the seams would be straight - then I went in & did something to keep the cut edges of the fabric from looking quite so chewed up.

It was a lot more work than I'd expected and some of the seams had to be moved slightly because the cut garment piece wasn't quite the shape it was supposed to be...then I had to line up the stitching lines and stitch slowly so that the garment ended up the correct size & shape.

A rotary cutter that will give you a straight cut & a smooth line is quite a good tool - but the fancy scissors for cutting decorative edges are supposed to be used on paper or after you've sewn the seam - not to cut out the fabric in the first place.

I did not volunteer to finish any more cut-but-never-sewn projects - at least not until I checked out that the pieces had been cut out with real shears instead of chewed out with cuticle scissors.

I hope it helps
