Sagot :

Answer:

How to deal with the following traits and aspects in life:

Before I start writing about how to deal with such traits, I will give you a heads up first that I am a Christian. Having said that, I believe all things in life should be dependent upon the word of God, because according to the bible in John 15:5 ... apart from Him, we can do NOTHING. If you do not agree with the verses and statements that I will be writing in here, I will just pray that God will soften your heart to listen to His calling.

So to start:

Self destruction

  • Proverbs 16:18

We most of the time think pridefully of ourselves that we can solve problems without the help of ANYONE. Do you know that by doing so, we are self destructing. So as a guideline remember the saying that no man is an island. We should be able to accept when we are wrong and accept recommendations from others.

Foolishness

  • Proverbs 1:7

According to biblical principle, in order to have knowledge and wisdom, we should first have fear of the Lord. that is acknowledging Him that he is the creator of all things.

Lack of contentment

  • Matthew 6: 25

The main reason why we have lack of contentment is that we continuously compare the things that we have to what others have. If you will continue to do that through out your life, you will never find true contentment. True contentment can only be experience if we fully trust in the Lord's plan in our life.

Aggressiveness

  • James 1:19 - 20

When we are angry we let our emotions take control of us. If we let our emotions control us we will not be able to think in our feet and our presence of mind will be lost.

Hardheadedness

  • Proverbs 29:1

If we continue to disobey the rules that are set before us, then as what we have read we sill suddenly be broken beyond healing. We will never be able to stick to obey rule that are set before us and our lives will be a mess. So as a guideline, soften your pride and be able to hear advises and instructions from authority as they are leaders that are given to us to be followed.

Impetuousness

  • Proverbs 3:5

Being Impetuous means that you are quick on deciding at things with out really considering the effects of the action. As what I have said on my introduction, all things that we do should be in line with the word of God that way we will be guided whether we are doing the right things or not.

Hostility

  • 1 John 3:15

A trait of a real Christian is being a peace-maker, if we are the one causing rivalry, or hate among others then we know that you are not part of God's kingdom because No True Christian would cause that to his brother.

Pride

  • Satan was cast out of heaven because of Pride. (Read on Isaiah 14)

Remember that statement above. Pride consumes us and makes us think that we are greater than everyone else. That is a very deadly thinking because it will eventually lead to self destruction (read on the above self destruction).

Boast fulness

  • Matthew 6:2-3.. "When you give to the poor, don’t blow a loud horn. That’s what show-offs do in the meeting places and on the street corners, because they are always looking for praise. I can assure you that they already have their reward."

Do you know what reward the Lord is talking about in this verse, That is not a good reward, but a place in the burning lake of sulfur - hell.

Egocentricity

Being egocentric is also PRIDE. Remember what God did to Satan  because of his pride.

Procrastination

  • Ephesians 5:15-17 ... "Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is."

Our laziness is also a sin. We are only here on earth for a very short time compared to a lifetime that we will spend either in heaven if we believed in Jesus as out personal Lord and Savior, or in hell if we did not listen to the calling of God. Having known that Let us diligently make use of the time that was entrusted to us by God.

Compulsiveness

  • Corinthians 9:27 ... " But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified."

Mindful thinking of our actions is also a way of glorifying God.

Envy

  • Proverb 14:30 ... "A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot."
