  • You must understand that time isn't something you observe. This is an important concept in physics. Time is a human made concept used to make describing motion easier. In Relativity, the time concept was revised to where differing observers may disagree on how fast time is elapsing. This was best to describe the phenomenon it describes. It so happens this same theory predicts that inside of black holes (the horizon) that time does not elapse. You may think, "Then yes time doesn't elapse in some places" True! But that is based on the definition. It needs further revision as time not elapsing doesn't match the purpose we defined it for.

  • It's not really an illusion. It's a construct made from human logic. If physicists found a better mechanism for describing systems, they would take it. It's just something we made, and it seems to work for the most part.
