Explanation:

Electricity

Electricity is a form of energy where the electrons are flowing from one point to another. The free movement of electrons is referred to as an electric current.

Electricity as we know it, is the energy that powers our home; from our lights down to our personal phones. It is produced from the power plants and passed down to our homes.

Sources of Electricity

  • Fossil Fuel - coal, natural gas, and petroleum products are burned to produce heat. This heat will make the turbines (in a power station or plant) move to make the electrons flow. The flow electrons will be the electricity.
  • Nuclear Sources - the nuclear power plant works just like a normal power plant (with turbine and all), the only difference is the source of the power. In normal power plant, the source is fossil fuel while in a nuclear power plant, the source of power is nuclear fission
  • Renewable Source - the source for this one are natural resources like geothermal energy (heat from core of the Earth), wind energy, solar energy (energy from the sun), tidal energy (from tides/ waves from the ocean) etc. It is called renewable since the sources replenishes itself (unlike fossil fuels that depletes through time)
