what does the height of plucking represent?

Sagot :

Answer:

The height of plucking represents the pitch of the plucked string. The taller the string the lower the pitch. The lower the pitch, the more open the string sounds and the harder it is to pluck. Low pitch bass strings are most common in guitar, piano and bass because they sound softer and more expressive than higher pitched strings. For example, on a guitar that has a higher E string, strings like a G, B and D would be harder to pluck and lower in pitch. In the bass, B and E would be lower than C and D, and A and G would be even lower than that.

In the bass, the middle and lower string are usually tuned an octave apart to create that beautiful “chimey” tone that we all like so much. Tuning the bass this way creates resonance and vibration.
