We must realize that God wants us to love Him and each other above all things. To do so requires us to put others ahead of ourselves. This may mean giving up some of our own needs or desires. It may require putting down our pride and standing up for those whom society has forsaken. It may involve turning away from our own selfishness and becoming more selfless. And finally, it may mean forgiving those who have wronged us. These are difficult commands but not impossible ones to follow. But if we fail to obey these commands we will surely die! Our ultimate motivation should be to serve God. He alone deserves all our praise. Without His intervention none of us would ever know true happiness or fulfillment. May God bless us all with the courage to follow his teachings and lead a life of humility and service. Amen.
