Based on your reflection on the Story of King Solomon, how will you resist temptation?

Sagot :

STORY OF KING SOLOMON

I thought to myself, "King Solomon had it easy." A little too easy, in my opinion

In a dream, God asks King Solomon what he'd want to receive as a present. Anything is possible for Solomon, whether it's bravery, strength or even money or fame. He prefers a heart that is kind. He needs to have wisdom in order to make appropriate decisions for his people. And because God is so delighted with Solomon's choice, He also provides him all the other excellent gifts he deserves.

Despite the fact that I appreciated Solomon's choice of a compassionate heart over a selfish desire for wealth, the whole situation seemed a little unjust to me. I wondered why God didn't come to me and ask what I wanted from Him. If He only would, I'd have a long list of things to do. For one thing, to improve my ability to love. For one thing, being more patient. Then there was grace and humility. I could use a heart of compassion as well, I thought.

Now when I'm tempted to feel bad because I think I could be kinder or smarter or more loving, I stop - and remind myself of Solomon. You, too, have the ability to do so. In fact, Because the God who created each of us in His own image does not favor anybody, makes mistakes, or excludes anyone. Instead, He adores us to the point where we believe we have all we need to be our finest selves. And it's easy to be our best, since God never intended for us to be anything less than our best.
