Bantugan
Once, there was a kingdom named Bumbaran where siblings King Madali and Prince Bantugan lived. Prince Bantugan was a renowned brave and good looking lad; ergo, a lot of women were attracted to him. King Madali's envy got the best of him so he ordered his subjects not to talk to Prince Bantugan, otherwise, they would be punished.
When Prince Bantugan returned from a victorious battle, no one
met, praised, and thanked him. No one even dared talk to him.
King Madali's proclamation had immensely saddened Prince
Bantugan so he decided to depart his beloved land and went to the Kingdom of the Land of Two Seas. While travelling, suddenly became ill and died at the gates of the kingdom ruled by a kind king and his beautiful sister named Princess Darimbang. The King and Princess Darimbang solicited advice from a council on what to do with the
unidentified body. In the middle of the meeting, Bantugan's faithful parrot who had been looking
for him entered and revealed who he really was. The King did not want to be held responsible
for Bantugan's death so he allowed the corpse to be returned to its homeland.
The parrot flew ahead back to Bumbaran and broke the sad news. King Madali was deeply saddened upon knowing his brother's demise. He flew to heaven right away to take back the soul of Bantugan. He was accompanied by Bantugan's loyal friend named Prince Mabaning. The two were able to trick the angel of death and successfully nabbed the bottle containing Bantugan's soul. Soon, Prince Bumbaran was brought to life again.
Meanwhile, Prince Miskoyaw heard of Prince Bantugan's death and wasted no time to invade the kingdom. Unfortunately, Bantugan was still weak since he was just revived recently. He was imprisoned and chained.
Prince Bantugan later regained his strength and victoriously fought against Prince Miskoyaw and his men. The whole kingdom celebrated their victory and Prince Madali's envy vanished.
Bantugan traveled to many lands and met many princesses, whom he married. He returned to King Madali, who welcomed him with joy. Bantugan lived a long and peaceful life.
