Sagot :
John Lennon’s vision of peace is really what all peace-loving people want. I think when he sang the part where there is no heaven and hell meant that we are not supposed to be confined by the rules set by religion. It became clear that he pointed to any type of allegiance to a nation, a religion as the cause of all the conflicts in the world, and getting rid of them, would also remove any reason to fight, and I believe this statement has always been true.
An example of this is the conflict in the Middle East, it is a war between countries, namely the US and the west against Syria, but this is also a religious war between Christians and Jews joining together against Islam.
He realizes how unlikely these visions are to becoming a reality, but knows that most people want the same thing. John Lennon’s vision is a utopia wherein mankind could live together in peace.
