Title: "Pondering Through the Pandemic"
I would've never thought that a drastic change in my life would occur so suddenly. One day, I was with my friends, and the next, I'm stuck in my house. Travel bans, quarantines, infections, and deaths. Who would've thought that a pandemic would hit during the 21st century then cripple countries and cause widespread death?
This made me think, that someone I talked to a few days ago could've been infected and was at risk of dying. This thought terrified me because not only would it mean that my friend is at risk, but it means everyone and I are also in danger of being infected. As if having to wear masks and stand far away from each other isn't already enough, we would need to quarantine ourselves and get tested in the hospital.
The initial response to the COVID-19 virus was nothing short of lacking. This led to a global infection which rapidly turned into a pandemic. This made me realize just how fragile life is. As of writing, 6,293,414 deaths have been reported to WHO, with thousands dying daily when the pandemic first started. Thankfully, after widespread vaccinations, the number of cases is expected to decline.
I'm really grateful to those who worked hard to develop vaccines and to everyone who is working to help put a stop to the pandemic. We, the normal citizens, should also help in preventing the disease from spreading. Always remember to sanitize your hands, wear masks, and distance yourself from others. Unity is important in returning our lives back to normal and finally defeating this dreaded COVID-19.
Note: Not really sure what I was going for, nor do I know what kind of answer you needed. I just wrote down what I thought would be able to fit in the requirements which is a paragraph with no less than 100 words about "The Lessons and Realizations I Gained During the COVID-19 Pandemic.".
