The plot of the story The Golden Harvest is by determination and constant wishing for wealth the couple who thought they were working a way to turn copper into gold found themselves earning much more than they thought they would actually earn.

The Characters of the story The Golden Harvest are:

  • Nai Hah Tong- the son in law and the husband of Nang Song Sai who wished and strive to find a way to turn the red copper into  a valuable gold.
  • Nang Song Sai- a very supportive wife to her husband even though she knew that what he was doing is quite impossible to actually do.
  • Father of Nang Song Sai- the wise and caring father in law of Nai Hah Tong, the one who somewhat made him believe of something impossible yet attain the same outcome they all wished to attain.

A few points made from the story The Golden Harvest:

  1. Through impossible beliefs the couple managed to get rich by actually not trying to get rich
  2. Through both o their hard works instead of awaiting a copper turn into gold they had earned andcared for their own wealth
  3. Nai Hah Tong’s father in law was wise and was able to help them by saying the false words yet gain much more from it

The story started in the old Ayudhya where there lived a couple, the husband was so determined to turn copper into gold he mostly experiments with too much resources and is not able to work often. With worrying thoughts his wife Nang Song Sai asked him to start working but his husband still didn’t stray from his goal.

She was left with no other choice but to let him do what he needs to do and just support him to his beliefs. Then one day she came to see her father and consult about her husband’s behavior. He then told her that he wants to help him attain his goal.

His father in law began speaking to him and convincing him to do specific things like to harvest special fuzzes that can only be useful if it is self-grown and from a specific banana tree. He then consulted with a priest and had done what he was told to do. Days went on and he had completed harvesting, he didn’t noticed that while he was doing all those things his wife sold most of the fruits and was able to earn a lot of money from it.

The day finally came when his father in law will attempt to turn copper into gold, but then he says that he can’t and he told him to look at his and his wife’s earnings from the banana trees. He then felt like a fool yet he was thankful for him, then from the fuzzes he molded it into a statue of his father in law.
