Negative feedback versus Positive feedback

Negative feedback reduces the change while the positive feedback increases or amplifies the change.

Negative feedback

When your body have more glucose, then the pancreases releases insulin to make the glucose level in normal range (this is an example of negative feedback) the pancreases may release glucose or glucagon depending on the bodies need to have reduce changes in the normal level of glucose to avoid complication.

Positive feedback

During infant delivery, the body increases oxytocin level for more uterine contraction to aid delivery. This is an example of positive feedback since it amplifies the level of oxytocin as needed to deliver the baby by producing more uterine contraction.

Going back to the topic:

Thirst is an example of negative feedback control system. When we are dehydrated, the blood volume decreases which is dangerous to our body as a response to reduce changes in the blood volume from the normal level, the body provides thirst sensation to normalize the blood volume level.
