Sagot :

1) rice fields or corn fields

- environmental issue:

Higher temperatures can decrease rice yields as they can make rice flowers sterile, meaning no grain is produced.

-reason/explain:

The change of rice-field use was caused by low productivity of rice-field, decreasing quality of land, particularly chemical and physical fertility, so that farming operations have become improper economically.

2) Yolanda tragedy

-environmental issue:

The typhoon, which damaged 1.14 million houses in 2013, triggered the evacuation of more than a million families or about 5.13 million individuals at the height of its onslaught. The total cost of damage was placed at P95. 5 billion.

reason/explain:

It is caused by global warming and has gone up by about 20cm since 1900. These sea level rises create larger storm surges. Use of groundwater has caused parts of the country to sink. The worst affected city, Tacloban, is at the end of a bay that funnelled water from the storm surge.

3)unsolved traafic in edsa

- environmental issue:

Notice the huge and dense mixed-use condominiums being built along EDSA itself! And so we must talk of too many cars that are the main reason for the traffic problem of EDSA. The over-population of communities along and near EDSA comes with an automatic increase in the number of private cars.

reasons/explain

LRT and MRT, and public transport infrastructure.

LRT and MRT, and public transport infrastructure.Poor roads, poor road network.

4) hunger

environmental issue:

The vast majority of people in hunger and poverty live in rural regions, relying heavily on agriculture, with their well-being closely tied to the natural environment. They are especially vulnerable to extreme weather events like droughts and flooding, which are often exacerbated by climate change.

reasons:

Food access and stability

Food access and stabilityThose who reported to be food-insecure in this area cited lack of income (37 percent), lack of a regular job (18 percent) and droughts and natural calamities (12 percent) as main reasons for going hungry

5)increased of temperature in summer

-environmental issue:

Humans are increasingly influencing the climate and the earth's temperature by burning fossil fuels, cutting down forests and farming livestock. This adds enormous amounts of greenhouse gases to those naturally occurring in the atmosphere, increasing the greenhouse effect and global warming.

reasons:

Because the earth's axis is tilted. ... During the summer, the sun's rays hit the Earth at a steep angle. The light does not spread out as much, thus increasing the amount of energy hitting any given spot. Also, the long daylight hours allow the Earth plenty of time to reach warm temperatures.

6)price hike of foods/products all country

-environmental issue:

global warming. ... Rice production is estimated to be responsible for 12% of total methane global emissions, mainly due to its anaerobic decomposition during its production processes.

reasons:

Rice prices change from time to time because supply and demand, the factors which determine prices change with respect to each other. The relative importance of certain parts of demand and supply and their respective influences on prices is of most concern to the farmer.

7)flash flood/water surge

-environmental issue:

Flash flooding can have devastating consequences and can have effects on the economy, environment and its people. ... Moreover, chemicals and other hazardous substances end up in water and eventually contaminate the water bodies that floods end up in. In addition, flooding can destroy the natural balance of the ecosystem.

reasons:

Most flash flooding is caused by slow-moving thunderstorms, thunderstorms repeatedly moving over the same area, or heavy rains from hurricanes and tropical storms. Occasionally, floating debris or ice can accumulate at a natural or man-made obstruction and restrict the flow of water.

8)dirty air in country

-environmental issue:

From smog hanging over cities to smoke inside the home, air pollution poses a major threat to health and climate. Ambient air pollution accounts for an estimated 4.2 million deaths per year due to stroke, heart disease, lung cancer, lung cancer, acute and chronic respiratory diseases.

reasons:

recently published study shows, based on the available information, that traffic (25%), combustion and agriculture (22%), domestic fuel burning (20%), natural dust and salt (18%), and industrial activities (15%) are the main sources of particulate matter contributing to cities' air pollution
